Next year Adderbury Scouts will be 30 years old.   To celebrate we're digging around in the video archives and re-releasing a few old gems!

Mike Lidster loads a boat onto his car roof in 1983

It was back in January 1979 that the Adderbury Scout Troop was formed after Cub parents said their lads wanted to move up.   The Group Scout Leader at the time was Peter Jennings, and Mike Lidster (a Warriner Physics teacher) agreed to become the first Scout Leader.

So the Troop was formed, and the first three PLs were named as Trevor Gainey (Tigers), Sebastian Peissel (Otters) and Andy Cox (Merlins).   It wasn't long before so many lads had joined the another patrol was formed, and Tim Gainey took charge of the Lions.

Have a look at the first ever meeting's programme here.

Here's the PLs on a night exercise in March 1981.

Sadly Mike Lidster passed away in 1984.   From there Ken Baker took over as Scout Leader.   The third (and current) Scout Leader is Andy Green.
